1. Parties and scope
These terms govern the use of the ClassTogether service (classtogether.net), operated by [COMPANY / FULL NAME] (address: [ADDRESS], registration / tax number: [REGISTRATION NO.]; "we"). A person who creates a teacher account (the "teacher") accepts these terms when creating the account. People who join a lesson with a join code (the "students") do not create an account; by joining they agree to follow the rules in section 5.
2. The service
ClassTogether is a web service that puts a teacher's presentation on students' screens and provides classroom tools such as a live quiz, a yes/no poll, a timer, an energy meter, an end-of-course survey, exercise hints, an optional AI helper for students' questions about the open slide, and files for students. We develop and change the service and may remove features. We take care to provide it without interruption or error but cannot guarantee that: maintenance, faults or an outage at an infrastructure provider may interrupt it.
The AI helper produces answers automatically from the text of the open slide. Its answers may be incomplete or wrong; they are an aid for the student, not a replacement for the teacher, and the teacher decides whether the helper is switched on in a lesson.
3. Teacher account
- You create the account in your own name, with a real name and an e-mail address that belongs to you.
- You keep your password to yourself and are responsible for what is done with your account. If you think it has been used without your permission, change the password and tell us through the contact form.
- The projector link and the join code give access to your classroom; use them only in your lessons. You can renew them from the teacher home page when needed.
4. The teacher's responsibilities
- You must hold the necessary rights in the presentations, pictures, quizzes and files you upload or import; you may not upload content that infringes someone else's copyright.
- If you use ClassTogether on behalf of a school or an organisation, complying with its rules and with its obligations regarding students' personal data is your responsibility.
- Do not ask students for special-category personal data (health, religion, political opinions and the like) or for personal details the lesson does not need, in quizzes or surveys.
- Tell your students that names and scores are shown to the class during a quiz; anyone may use a nickname.
5. Students
- Join only lessons whose code your teacher gave you; do not share the code outside the class.
- Choose a name that is not offensive and does not impersonate someone else. A nickname is fine.
- Do not write personal details about yourself or others into free-text survey answers or AI questions.
6. Prohibited uses
- Uploading content that is unlawful, infringes someone's rights or contains malicious code.
- Trying to access another teacher's classroom, content or account, or to disrupt a lesson you are not part of.
- Automated bulk requests, scraping, or probing the service's security.
- Creating accounts for someone else, or trading accounts, join codes or projector links.
- Using the service for advertising, unsolicited messages or any purpose other than teaching and training.
7. Rights in content
The content you upload remains yours. You grant us the licence needed to store it, convert it (for example splitting a PDF into slides or rendering Markdown), show it to the students of your lesson and to the projector, and deliver it back to you, for as long as the content is in your account. Students may download the slides and files of a lesson only when the teacher allows it. The ClassTogether software, name and design are ours.
8. Price
ClassTogether is currently free. If we introduce paid plans, the free features available at that time and the terms of the paid plans will be announced in advance; nobody will be charged without agreeing to a paid plan.
9. Suspension and termination
You can delete your account at any time from the My account page; this deletes your content and your classroom data and cannot be undone. We may suspend or delete an account that breaks these terms, after notice where possible, and at once where the breach endangers other users or the service. We may close the service as a whole with reasonable notice; you can export your data before that.
10. Liability
We provide the service with reasonable skill and care. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for loss of data you could have backed up, or for an interruption caused by an infrastructure provider or your own network. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or your statutory rights as a consumer.
11. Personal data
How we process personal data is described in the privacy policy, which includes a section for students. The cookies and browser storage page explains what the browser keeps.
12. Changes
When these terms change, we publish the new version on this page with its date. Teachers are shown the new version at their first sign-in after the change and asked to accept it; a teacher who does not accept can export their data and delete the account.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of the country where the operator named in section 1 is established, without prejudice to the mandatory consumer-protection rules of the country where you live. Disputes are brought before the courts of that country, unless the law gives you the right to sue in your own.
