ClassTogether vs Kahoot: where they differ

Both run a quiz game in the classroom. The difference shows in the limits and in the rest of the lesson: Kahoot opens a game, ClassTogether puts the whole lesson on the student's screen.

Which one suits you?

Kahoot may suit you better

If you want to pick ready-made quizzes from a library, assign the quiz as homework, or the game itself is the centre of the lesson.

ClassTogether may suit you better

If your class is large, you quiz in the middle of your own interactive slides, you teach in a computer lab, your course runs over several days, or you are tired of handing out a new PIN every time.

Switching from Kahoot

  • You re-enter your quizzes in ClassTogether's editor or upload them as a quiz file. The multiple-choice, timed and scored format is the same, so the habit transfers.
  • You upload your slides as a PDF and share the slides with students on their own screens. The quiz sits inside the lesson and starts with one click between slides.
  • Your students already know the drill from Kahoot: type the code, enter a name. The only difference is that they do it once.

Frequently asked questions

How many players does Kahoot's free plan allow?

According to the vendor's pages it depends on the account type: 10 players per game on personal and higher-education accounts, 40 on a K-12 teacher account (checked 3 November 2026). ClassTogether has no player limit.

Can I move my Kahoot quizzes to ClassTogether?

There is no direct import yet. You re-enter the questions in ClassTogether's quiz editor or upload them as a quiz file; the multiple-choice, timed and scored format is the same.

Does ClassTogether have a game PIN too?

There is a join code, but not one per quiz. Students join once; the slides, the quiz, the polls and the survey open on the same page, and the code stays the same for the whole course.
