How to set it up
Open the projector link
Your teacher panel has a projector link. Open it in the browser of the classroom computer and press full screen; no sign-in is needed on that machine.
Run the lesson from your own device
The teacher screen stays open on your laptop or phone. From there you move the slides, start the quiz and set the timer.
The projector follows you
As you move on, the tab on the projector and the students' screens change at the same moment. No cable, no adapter, no screen-mirroring settings.
Why it works this way
Every room's computer is different
HDMI, VGA, dongles, resolutions: every room has a new surprise. Classroom presentation software that lives in a browser works the same on all of them.
Your laptop stays yours
Your notes, e-mail and open windows never reach the projector. The board shows the lesson, nothing else.
Teach while you walk
The teacher screen works on a phone. You can advance the slide from the back of the room.
If the projector dies, the lesson goes on
The slides are already on the students' screens. The class runs exactly the same without a projector.
Designed to be read from the back
The join code, the QR code, the slide and the quiz ranking on the projector page are sized for the last row of a lecture hall.
The code and the QR are always there
Before the lesson starts, the projector shows the join code and the QR code. Late students join from there.
What the projector shows
- Before the lesson: the join code, the join address and the QR code.
- During the lesson: the open slide, your pointer and highlights, the virtual teacher figure if you switched it on, and the timer when you set one.
- In a quiz: the question, the time left, the answer split, the ranking and the podium.
- In a quick poll: the yes/no result when you close the poll.
- On an exercise slide: the hints and the solution you have released so far.
The projector page only displays. Nothing can be changed from it, neither a student's answer nor a teacher setting, so it is safe to leave open on the classroom computer.
Frequently asked questions
Does the classroom computer need to sign in?
No. The projector link from your teacher panel carries its own key. Open it in the browser on the classroom computer, press full screen, and it shows your lesson. It only displays; nothing can be changed from it.
What if the projector fails mid-lesson?
The lesson goes on. The slides, the quiz questions and the timer are already on the students' own screens; the projector is a convenience, not a requirement.
Can I control the lesson from my phone?
Yes. The teacher's control screen works on a phone, so you can move the slides, start the quiz or set the timer while walking around the room.
Does the classroom computer need any presentation software installed?
No. The projector page is a web page; any current browser on the classroom computer shows it. You do not install ClassTogether, PowerPoint or a viewer on that machine, and you do not copy your deck onto it.
